I had some fun practicing my skills for this one.
I came up with this idea of putting a car in an impossible place.
An ultimate off roader most definitely off road!

Tracked in Nuke, a pointcloud and mesh build for the set in Nuke.
That mesh was then imported into maya to be used for reflections and shadow catching.
A custom HDR and a couple of lights and it was rendered with Arnold.

Nuke, Maya, Arnold and Aftereffects used for this one.

This is a follow on from the defender cave concept idea, which should be shown below in related work.

The name OCTA referring to the shape and strength of a precious jewel.
Something to be desired, and its strength respected, I hope I have captured the feeling the OCTA evokes.
I used Houdini to create a bed of stylized geometric rocks. Rocks resembling coal, the birthplace of diamonds. I wanted to give this the feeling of a diamond in the rough, but also putting it in its happy place of off road.

This is the landrover Defender 110, set in a landscape exterior shot.
Using Vred and retouched in PhotoShop.
The model is something I found on the internet, so it isnt great.
The lighting and shaders are all produced by myself in VRED.

This is part of the OCTA cave assets.
I wanted to show some of the cars details and again practice lighting and comping skills, maintaining the look and feel across a suite of assets.

Experimenting with houdini to create environments.
Also practicing lighting and compositing.
I like the overall look of this piece, I like the mood and the lighting.
I like the idea of the cave of stylised rocks, however I'm not sure about the look of the rocks.
Also I feel the rocks are too distracting, they are not supposed to be the focal point, the car is.
