Continuing to experiment with materials in Substance designer and painter.
Continuing to experiment with materials in Substance designer and painter.
This is a project I undertook completely myself to showcase my skills to take a project all the way from concept lookframe to final piece.
It was all modeled and animated in Maya, lit and rendered with Arnold then comped in nuke.
This has become a little development project.
I have been using this model to develop my material and texturing skills.
Creating leather, anodised metal, Damascus steel, TPT carbon, Rubber and the stitching.
Richard Mille do like to push the technical level of the materials they use for both form and function.
I used Substance Designers and Substance Painter to create these materials. I produced the materials so further down the line different colours and finishes can be applied to surfaces such as the Carbon TPT, the leather ball and stitching colours.
I have revived an old project of mine, the Richard Mille RM52-01.
I am fascinated by anything mechanical be it automotive or even horology.
I re-modeled some of the main structures using Fusion, to get a more accurate refined model, to make sure I get the best reflections and refractions.
I originally modeled this watch in maya. However I wasn't happy with the surface quality so I re-modeled it in fusion.
